Congratulations to the winner of this year’s Great New Idea competition, Nim’s Fruit Crisps, who were awarded Best New Idea accolade at Food & Drink Expo for its range of air dried vegetable crisps.
The range includes 100% Natural Air Dried Pepper & Courgette, Beetroot & Parsnip and Tomato & Cucumber crisps, which are all sliced and aired to perfection without the use of oil. The process helps to retain much of the nutrients whilst enhancing the authentic taste of the vegetable. The award was presented to Nimisha Raja, Founder of Nim’s Fruit Crips by Adam Leyland, editor of The Grocer.
Speaking at the presentation, Raja said: “I’m absolutely ecstatic to have won the Great New Idea competition, I’ve never won anything before! I’m extremely grateful to have been given the opportunity to have my products to be judged in this competition especially as I’m still a start-up brand. I’ve had an amazing time at the show and not only have the visitors been supportive but other exhibitors have been so encouraging!”
An extension of its already popular fruit crisps range, Nim’s new vegetable crisps are aimed at health conscious consumers. Made from 100% fresh vegetables, they tap into the demand for genuinely healthy lunchboxes, on-the-go and after school snacks that don’t compromise on taste.
The Great New Idea competition, which invited exhibitors to put forward their best innovations of the last six months, saw over 160 entries, with the winner announced at a presentation at the NEC during the show.
